Naturally, flying experience is the cornerstone of the section's training plan.  To meet this requirement, cadets are fortunate enough to be able to fly at RAF Boscombe Down and gliding at 622VGS RAF Upavon.

For those with a real aptitude, applications are sought for service sponsored Flying Scholarships which can lead to the award of Private Pilots license.

As well as the flying programme, each year a group of older cadets from all three sections usually take a parachuting course, followed by a couple of jumps.  This, like most of the activities is organised by the cadets in conjunction with an authoritative body; in this instance the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Sport Parachuting Association at Dunkeswell lends a hand.
