Bournemouth School CCF's Tri-Service Focus

Unlike many other cadet contingents through the country, Bournemouth School's CCF is truly a combined cadet force. The cadet contingent is divided into three sections relating to the different branches of the UK Armed Forces:

As recruits, students elect to join one of these sections which allows them to focus on what interests them most - a flavour of these might be aerobatic flying, field signals or sailing off the West Coast of Scotland.  However, the students are never pigeon-holed and there are always opportunities to try something new which might traditionally be the domain of one of the other two sections.

Operating within a military framework, the CCF is sponsored by the UK Armed Forces.  Each section is actively supported by a parent unit within each branch of the Armed Forces:

Typically these sponsoring units will host a number of visits throughout the year, provide training expertise and resources and allow the cadets an invaluable insight into day to day life within the Services.

Additionally, cadets are extremely fortunate to be offered a wide variety of courses.  These courses are during the school holidays, are typically a week long and are predominately based at military establishments either within the UK or abroad.  Examples may include experience at Britannia Royal Naval College (BRNC), glider flight training or signals tuition and qualification in the field.

Over the years, Bournemouth School CCF has introduced a tremendous number of cadets into the UK Armed Forces.  The majority have been very successful commissioned and non-commissioned officers; many have in turn looked for chances to support the activities of the current members of the Corps.

If you are an ex-member of the Corps and feel that you would like to support the activities of today's cadets in any way, we'd be delighted to hear from you!  Please drop us an email and we'll be in touch to discuss the possibilities.
